Many Nigerians are angry after reports showed that the Federal Government’s 2026 budget includes ₦8.05 billion for church and mosque projects.
According to the public accountability group Tracka, the budget includes ₦1.91 billion for seven church projects and ₦6.14 billion for 52 mosque projects. The group also claims these projects were included under government ministries that are not responsible for religious matters, raising questions about transparency and spending priorities.
