The Nigerian Police Force has arrested a doctor at Wellington Hospital in Life Camp, Abuja
The Nigerian Police Force has arrested a doctor at Wellington Hospital in Life Camp, Abuja, following allegations that a patient discovered one of his kidneys was missing. The doctor was reportedly arrested by operatives of the Police Special Tactical Squad after a petition from the Vincent Ose Initiative and an alert raised by social media activist VeryDarkMan.
The patient, identified as Ezekiel Samuel, reportedly discovered through medical scans conducted at another hospital that one of his kidneys was missing. His friend, who initially took him to the hospital, was also reportedly found to have lost a kidney and allegedly claimed that it was sold for N7 million.
The police are expected to investigate the allegations and establish what happened to the reported missing kidneys, including whether there was any wrongdoing at the hospital. The allegations have not yet been independently established.
